SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - The Springfield Department of Elder Affairs hosted their annual holiday brunch this morning at the Raymond Jordan Center. Ariel Mendez, the Office Manager at the center said through events hosted, a family has formed with all of the senior citizens and seeing their smiling faces warms her heart, especially in the holiday season. "A lot of people might not be able to spend time with their families and such so this is a great way for us to give back to our senior center," said Mendez. Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno stopped by to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and the Miss Senior Massachusetts was even their to help hand out the meals. The Springfield Department of Elder Affairs also hosts events and classes year around including pickleball, dance and tai chi.
