The Hamilton High wrestling team won a thriller on Saturday when it rallied for a 39-36 victory at Neptune. It all came down to the last bout with the score tied at 36 and Jacob Jimenez delivered for the Hornets at 132 pounds when he posted a 9-8 decision over Nathan Ramos. Alan Sanchez also came up big near the end for Hamilton when he pinned at 126 pounds to set up the dramatic finish. Earlier, Dominick Johnson delivered an 8-7 win at 144 pound and Christian Eagleton won in overtime at 190. West Windsor South also won a tight match at the end when it defeated Oakcrest, 41-35. Coming through in the clutch for South in the last bout at 126 pounds was Yousset Shadid. He won by a 16-3 major decision. Oakcrest won the first five bouts, but the Pirates stormed back behind a pin by Humza Khalid at 165. It was a mixed day for Hopewell Valley. The Bulldogs did beat Monroe, 49-21, but then suffered their first loss of the year in a 39-25 setback to Bridgewater. Winning twice for Hopewell were Dean Meissner (113), Dylan Hersch (126), Konrad Haugeto (157) and Jeff Branagh (165).
