NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) -- The North Kingstown Police Department joined dozens of children for a "Shop with a Cop" event on Saturday morning. The program was organized in collaboration with Walmart, the North Kingstown School Department's Office of Family Learning, and North Kingstown's Police Union IBPO Local 473, was held at Walmart on Ten Rod Rd. The Office of Family Learning has chose 30 families, totaling 50 children, to take part in the event. Walmart pledge up to $25 dollars for each children to select one toy, with IBPO Local 473 matching that offer, bringing the total to $50 per child. The North Kingstown Police Department thanked Walmart, IBPO Local 473, and the North Kingstown School Department's Office of Family Learning for their contributions to this event.
