Arrests in shooting that killed 2 women in SW Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Two men police say are connected to an auto theft ring are now facing murder charges in a shooting that left two women dead in Southwest Memphis on Monday.
Desmond Emery, 21, was charged with first-degree murder.
Jonathan Rush, 21, was charged with first-degree murder and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Two women killed in southwest Memphis shooting
According to Memphis Police, Ellen Grandberry and Sharon Wilson were found shot to death in a car in the 4700 block of Manson Road.
Investigators said Emery and Rush were taken into custody shortly after the deadly shooting while Shelby County deputies were looking for a suspect in another homicide.
Donte Eddings, 19, was wanted for the fatal shooting of a homeowner on October 21 in the 7000 block of Cutter Mill Road in southeast Shelby County. Police said 48-year-old Fernando Jones was shot after he interrupted a group of car burglars.
On Dec. 16, SCSO BRATs (Burglary, Robbery, and Auto Theft), SCSO K-9 Patrol, and SWAT executed a search warrant in the 5900 block of Grosvenor Avenue and took Eddings, Emery, Rush, Roderick Danner, 19, Eric McNeal, 18, Zavion Owens, 20, Gabriel Smith, 22, and Curtiss Johnson, 32, into custody.

During the search of the home, deputies also recovered:
Four vehicles that were reported stolen out of Memphis: A Maserati SUV, two Nissan Maximas, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee
11 firearms: Six Dracos, one AR Pistol, four glock handguns (two had automatic switches)
2.35 pounds of marijuana.
8 men arrested in auto theft ring after homicide
MPD said they were able to link weapons and vehicles recovered by SCSO at the residence on Grosvenor Avenue to the murders of the women on Mason Road.
Jonathan Rush is due in court on Friday, and Desmond Emery will appear on January 9. MPD said their bonds have yet to be set in this case.
Teen accused of killing man who interrupted car burglary
Police said Eddings admitted to firing a gun outside Jones' home. He has been charged with first-degree murder in that case.
