Court docs: 'Progress' being made toward 'eventual resolution' in Junk Ditch lawsuit
Dec 18, 2024
ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- Court records indicate "progress" is being made toward an "eventual resolution" in one of the two lawsuits against Junk Ditch Brewing Company following an initial hearing Wednesday.
A document filed in Allen Superior Court also revealed that all "real and personal property" of the defendants -- which include Junk Ditch Brewing Company, GK Baked Goods and Affine Holdings -- is being listed for sale or auction. The sales are expected to be finished by March.
The court also suggested the parties involved in the lawsuit should "consider mediation when the timing is right."
The "progress" refers to a lawsuit filed by Grace Kelly May, which claims the owners of the aforementioned defendants, Andrew Smith and Daniel Campbell, tried to undermine GK Café and Provisions in order to lower the amount of money it would take to buyout May from Junk Ditch Brewing Company and GK Baked Goods.

Smith and Campbell are also facing a second lawsuit from Ashberry Eight, a real estate agency that presided over the location of GK Café and Provisions, that claims the defendants owe the company more than $800,000.
A second initial hearing for the May lawsuit is scheduled for March 25, 2025, and the first initial hearing for the Ashberry Eight lawsuit will take place Dec. 30.
