(PUEBLO, Colo.) — A Pueblo Police officer resigned from the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) instead of being fired, according to PPD.
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, PPD told FOX21 News that Officer Bryan Gonzales resigned from his employment with PPD in lieu of termination. PPD also said an administrative investigation had been completed and the results of the investigation were sent to Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training as required by law. A criminal investigation is ongoing and results will be sent to the 10th Judicial District Attorney's Office for review once completed.
According to Colorado POST's website, Gonzales is being investigated for a misdemeanor allegation of Colorado statute 18-8-404 or Official Misconduct.
PPD said the City has no further comment on the case as it is an ongoing criminal matter.
