HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College are announcing a new partnership. Through this partnership, Reynolds plans to move its horticulture program to Lewis Ginter's grounds in 2025. This announcement was made at the gardens at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at a ceremony commemorating the partnership. Reynolds is the only college in Virginia that offers such a horticulture program, according to the university. The program offers certificates and degrees in plant production, landscape design and management, sustainable agriculture and more. Recently, the garden was named “Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights” by USA Today. At the annual ICONS awards, the garden was named nonprofit of the year, according to ChambersRVA. Reynolds Community College is the youngest community college in Virginia and has more than 15,000 students every year. Its four operational campuses serve residents from Hanover, Henrico, Goochland and Louisa counties, as well as the city of Richmond.
