FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Investigators believe Alejandro Reyes-Villagomez had been drinking and was driving his Dodge Durango RT well over 100 mph when he ran a red light, causing a crash that killed the driver of another SUV and seriously injured that driver's daughter.
Police are now asking the public to help them track him down.
The crash happened at around 10:15 p.m. on May 11, 2024 at the intersection of Lima and Till on Fort Wayne's north side. Investigators determined Villagomez was going south on Lima and ignored the light that had been red for seven seconds. They determined he was going 115 mph when he hit the SUV that was turning left from Till onto northbound Lima.

The driver of the other SUV, Fabian Garlitz, 45, was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His daughter was flown to Indianapolis for treatment, and according to the Fort Wayne Police Department, she's still recovering.
In September, court documents were filed in connection with the crash, indicating Villagomez would be facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, reckless homicide, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, exceeding the posted speed limit and disregarding an automatic signal.
