DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Dartmouth Police Department said a 73-year-old woman died on Dec. 17 after being struck by a vehicle. Police said emergency personnel responded to the area of Bridge Street and Water Street around 3:45 p.m. to find the victim had been struck while in a crosswalk. Fire department personnel rendered aid, and the victim was then transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Police said that the driver of the car remained on scene and that a preliminary investigation found that a “solar glare” may have contributed to the incident and that speed was not a factor.
