Two arrested in Kenner traffic stop turned drug bust

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — A Kenner area traffic stop has landed two men in jail on drug-related charges.
Around 12 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, Kenner Police Department officers stopped a vehicle at the corner of 12th Street and Williams Boulevard.

Officers said their engagement with the driver led to the arrest of 49-year-old Jamal Garel and 47-Yuset Pozo. During a search of the vehicle over 60 grams of marijuana along with cocaine was reportedly found.
Warrants were issued to search their homes and at the Garel's home, detectives reportedly found an additional 12 pounds of marijuana, three ounces of cocaine, 300 grams of THC, and mushrooms.

Pozo and Garell were arrested and booked on charges of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
