BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- With Christmas looming, the roads and highways throughout the state of California will be busier than any other time of the year. In Southern California, 9.9 million people will be traveling during Christmas-time and 8.7 million of those travelers will be on the road according to Gianella Ghiglino, with AAA of Southern California. She joined 17 News at Noon to discuss travel tips and what the roadways in and out of Kern County will look like in the coming days. "It's always important to make sure your car is ready. Check your tires, tire pressure, car battery and make sure the maintenance is up," said Ghiglino. "Keep tire chains in the back of your car just in case." How would ending Daylight Saving time look like in Kern County? Ghiglino says the busiest travel days will be the weekend going into Christmas and the weekend going into the new year: Dec. 20 and 27.
