17 News has partnered with the Open Door Network and AltaOne Federal Credit Union to help former residents of the Open Door Network have a much merrier Christmas. The first family, the Estradas, was surprised by AltaOne Federal Credit Union and the Open Door Network, who brought some housewarming gifts this holiday season. The Estradas, formerly homeless, were part of the Open Door Network, which took them in and helped them get back on their feet. Now, they get to celebrate the holidays with a roof over their heads and the peace of mind that their Christmas just got a whole lot merrier. "I appreciate it, and my kids really appreciate it too," one of the Estradas said. "Even though they didn’t know anything about it, it was kept a secret." Lauren Skidmore, CEO of the Open Door Network, says, "This is really the moment we look forward to—families being able to have a Christmas under their own roof. Without AltaOne Federal Credit Union, we wouldn’t be able to support these families during some of the most meaningful times of their lives."
