ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Tuesday marked the fifth annual toy drive for the Angel's Tree Project with People's Choice Kitchen in Rochester. The Rochester Police Department, YMCA and Walmart also partnered for the endeavor. Rochester Police officers distribute gifts with Evangela Stanley, owner of People's Choice Kitchen. (WROC/Trinity Wilson) Children had the opportunity to interact with police officers and firefighters. There was pizza and hot chocolate available to consume. And a special visitor for kids too: Santa Claus, who came bearing gifts! "When you see the law, when you see police officers, they're normally coming to either take someone into custody, or to save someone's life, so, it's important for the kids to see police in the great light that I see them in," said Evangela Stanley, owner of People's Choice Kitchen Rochester malls remove courtesy wheelchairs, scooters for patrons People's Choice Kitchen is also keeping some of the gifts donated to give to a family left devastated. News 8 reported this week that a mother of seven had her car stolen along with all of her children's Christmas presents before she was taunted online. "I can relate to you, going to your vehicle, or like this family - their vehicle was actually stolen and there's no gifts for the kids. So, I definitely have toys for the kids," Stanley said. People's Choice Kitchen will be handing toys out all week. For those who missed out Tuesday, you can find Stanley at the restaurant's location at 507 Chili Avenue.
