ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) is offering a reward to anyone who has information about a dog that is believed to have been abused.
AWLA offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the dog's owner being identified.
The dog, dubbed Walter by AWLA, was found on Dec. 4 near S Walter Reed Drive around 14th Street and the Walter Reed Community Center in critical condition.

Walter was covered in sores and was severely hypothermic and emaciated. He didn't have a microchip or ID tags, but he was wearing a metal chain collar.
He was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic but due to his condition, the veterinarian determined that Walter be humanely euthanized.
Anyone who recognizes Walter or has video footage from Ring or dashboard cameras is asked to contact AWLA’s Animal Control team by calling (703) 931-9241 or emailing [email protected].
