ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The community got an inside look into how the Albuquerque Police Department trains their officers when it comes to use of force. APD put on demonstrations on Tuesday inside their reality-based training center, with many of the scenarios based on real-life situations officers have faced on the job. The training included demonstrations of varying uses of force.

"I'm impressed with how our team is adapting, how they're finding different scenarios, how they're looking at incidents that we've dealt with in the past, and they're able to apply those to training scenarios that we are able to provide our officers with the most updated advance type of training," said APD Chief Harold Medina.
The training is part of the settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to reform the department.
