MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) - Calling all book lovers and avid readers on Wisconsin's lakeshore! A new bookstore and mocktail lounge has opened in Manitowoc. Co-owned by Jessica Nicholson and Lily Schuette, The Nook brings customers together to enjoy spiritless mocktails alongside a diverse selection of books in a comfortable space with an ambiance the owners say will have you lounging for hours. Menominee Park Zoo in Oshkosh introduces new bear and fox exhibit to the public Nicholson, a local real estate agent, expressed excitement about introducing a hangover-free concept to Manitowoc. The Nook is also expected to host unique events aimed at fostering community connections. Schuette shared her enthusiasm for creating a space where people can savor a delicious mocktail or immerse themselves in a good book. The Nook's menu features coffee, tea, and specialty mocktails, including a Galaxy Gin Fizz, Pink Lady Lemonade, Old Fashioned Essence, and Smokey the Bear. Additionally, they do serve small bites such as a parfait, avocado toast, a turnover, and a bagel with cream cheese. The lounge officially opened Saturday, Dec. 14, amid positive emotions from Nicholson and Schuette. The co-owners shared their gratitude on social media, saying, “Never in a million years did we expect to walk outside and see a line wrapped around the building. What an honor it was to serve every single one of you who came to our grand opening.” Local nonprofit donates hundreds of care packages to cancer patients The Nook operates Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is closed Monday and Tuesday.
