MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities say they removed a vehicle from under the ice of a lake in Winnebago County on Monday and now they say they have also recovered a body. According to the Menasha Police Department, officials have confirmed that a vehicle and the body of an Appleton man were found and removed from Little Lake Butte des Morts. The vehicle was first found submerged under the ice about 30 yards out from the 9th Street boat launch in Menasha with the man's body being discovered nearby. Vehicle pursuit in Wisconsin ends with driver rescued from partially frozen Baraboo River Officials say they believe the vehicle first entered Little Lake Butte des Morts almost a week ago on Wednesday, December 11. At this time, authorities have not yet identified the recovered body and no other information is available at this time. An investigation into the incident by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office remains ongoing and Local Five will continue to update this story as more details are released.
