After widespread rain moved through the area last night into this morning, we've been left with overcast skies and some areas of fog/mist this evening. Watch out for low visibilities as you're heading out for any plans. Just take a look at the view (or lack thereof), from our Dry Dock Marine Center Lake James Camera this afternoon... Areas of fog/mist have lingered today, including up at Lake James. Our first weather system over the weekend brought us rainfall amounts under an inch, but more rain is on the way... Rainfall totals of under an inch were picked up from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Look for clouds and some areas of fog/mist to persist into tonight as our next weather system approaches. Just before daybreak, rain showers look to arrive, with temperatures rising through the 40s overnight. Clouds and areas of fog/mist linger this evening.Temperatures rise and rain arrives by daybreak Monday. Monday will be a very warm day, as gusty southwesterly winds will boost temperatures up into the 50s! We'll deal with periods of rain though, especially around lunchtime. Make sure you take the umbrella with you as you head out the door. You'll want to hold onto that umbrella as well, as winds will gust up to 35 mph at times. Rain is most widespread around lunchtime on Monday.Highs soar into the 50s on Monday!Wind gusts up to 35 mph from the southwest will give our temperatures a big boost.Rain exits by Monday evening and colder air moves in. Most of the rain tapers off Monday evening and we'll be dry then Monday night. Additional rainfall of up to around a half an inch can be expected, with higher amounts southeast and lower amounts northwest. All great news for the drought! Look for high temperatures to be back down in the 40s. We're partly cloudy and dry on Tuesday.High temperatures reach the 40s. Temperatures will tumble back into the upper 30s on Wednesday, with some scattered rain/snow showers possible. Highs will stay in the 30s through Friday before arctic air surges back in and drops high temperatures into the 20s by the weekend. Stay warm and stay tuned for forecast updates, as some lake effect snow may develop as well by week's end. We turn cold and dip below average once again by late this week into the weekend.
