ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It can be a sticky situation having to leave our pets at home all alone when we want to get away. A local business has some good news for pet owners. For the cat parents hesitant to leave their furry friend with someone else, a new luxury hotel for cats made its debut on Saturday. The Happy Cat Hotel & Spa, a franchise based out of New York, has made its way to the Duke City and is now offering amenities like themed suites, daily room service, individualized playtime, and even real-time updates of your cat. Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department warns pet owners about scammers "We finally have an opportunity to open our doors to all the kitty owners in New Mexico, allowing them to have a home away from home for their kitties. It's a high-end boarding and grooming for the parents that need a place for their cats to stay," says owner Martha Plummer. This will be the fifth Cat Hotel and Spa to open, with two being in Colorado and Montana. The owner says there are more cat hotels in development.
