LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The last few years the battle of the bluegrass has not been much of a battle. The same can not be said for Saturday’s game against Louisville. The cats led the majority of the game, but the cardinals always kept the game within reach. When Kentucky made plays, Louisville responded right away. Lamont Butler started for the wildcats, and finished with a career-high 33 points. It was one of the most impressive performances in the Kentucky-Louisville series to date. Five players finished in double figures. In seven of their 11 games, the cats have had five or more players finish in double digits. Kentucky thrived on fast-break points. Going 24-4 over the cardinals. They also outrebounded Louisville 41-31. Cats get a much needed break before headed to New York City next Saturday to face Ohio State.
