Man struck, killed by truck in Gert Town

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Gert Town on Friday, Dec. 13.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, around 11:16 p.m. they were alerted to a crash at the corner of S Carrolton and Washington avenues.
Argument near Champion Square left one shot, one arrested
Upon arrival, officers learned that a man using a walker was crossing S. Carrollton Avenue when he was struck by a Chevy pickup truck.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The truck's driver did not leave the scene, according to the NOPD.
Two-alarm fire in Gert Town damages Earhart Boulevard building
The Orleans Coroner's Office will release the man's identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
