RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Workers making minimum wage in Virginia will be making 41 cents more per hour in the new year, which comes five years after a law was passed. On Jan. 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Virginia will be raised from $12 per hour to $12.41 as a result of a bill passed by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly requiring the Commonwealth’s minimum wage to be adjusted for inflation. In March of 2024, Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) vetoed bills that would have raised the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2026.
