LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Lexington Sporting Club now has six new signings of the Terry Boss era with two midfielders joining the Greens’ United Soccer League Championship team.
LSC has eleven players signed on for the 2025 season.
Midfielder Marcus Epps
Hartford Athletic, FC Tulsa, Phoenix Rising and San Antonio FC are Epps’ stops during his career in the USLC since 2017.
He brings a versatile skillset to Lexington’s flanks as a winger who can cut inside or drive to the end line.
In Connecticut last season, Epps scored three goals and provided two assists in 34 matches played. He has a 74 percent passing accuracy rate.
“His versatility allows him to adapt to different game situations, keeping defenders guessing and creating opportunities for himself and his teammates,” said Boss.
Epps has seen his fair share of fanbases and he’s excited to connect with the supporters in the Bluegrass.
“I believe we will build a memorable year on and off the pitch with the Lexington fans and community,” said Epps.
Midfielder Devon “Speedy” Williams
The former Louisville City player will now have played for both Commonwealth clubs after becoming Boss’ latest signing.
Speedy also has plenty of Championship experience with stops in Colorado Springs, Miami and New York.
“The visible ambition of the club is something any player would want to be associated with,” said Williams.
The Jamaican also knows about winning in the second tier with four titles to his name. Williams won the 2024 league title with Colorado Springs weeks ago as the Switchbacks defeated Rhode Island FC.
“Speedy is a winner and has been one of the best central midfielders in the league for a long time,” said Boss.
Contributing mostly to his former club’s defense, Williams registered a 61 percent tackle success rate along with 61 clearances, 13 blocks and 29 interceptions last season.
