PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular Providence seafood restaurant will close for renovations next month, 12 News has learned. Hemenway's, which will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, is slated to close temporarily beginning New Year's Day, according to Newport Restaurant Group's Nicole Christie. Christie said the South Main Street restaurant will open back up in March, though the exact date has not been set yet. "Guests can look forward to subtle updates throughout the space, along with a new and improved Raw Bar with seating, and an exciting new menu showcasing New England shellfish, sushi and crudo," Christie said in a statement.
