Leavitt was released under monitored conditional release after posting bond on Friday. A petition for Leavitt to be under order of the Jake Lair Law has also been filed with the Allen County Circuit Court.
Indiana’s Jake Lair Law, otherwise known as Red Flag Law, allows police to take custody of a citizen’s firearms by way of warrant or immediately when a circumstance puts the public in jeopardy.
Leavitt is set to have his initial hearing in court on Dec. 16.
