Suspect in teen's killing surrenders after barricade, standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department reports Wednesday, the suspect in a shooting that left a 17-year-old dead late last month has been taken into custody.
KCKPD says that the man was taken in after a barricade or standoff near McGrew Grove and Quindaro Boulevard Wednesday evening. According to the police, around 6:30 p.m., officers were in the area serving a warrant on the November 30 killing of Nicholas Brooks.

Once these officers arrived on the scene, the adult male suspect barricaded himself in the residence.
After what police are calling "several tactical interventions," KCKPD negotiators convinced the man to surrender into custody without further incident.
