I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine. The Capitol police arrested the guy.Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO. #HoldTheLine— Nancy Mace (@NancyMace) December 11, 2024 McIntyre faces a misdemeanor charge of assaulting a government official. He was in the building at a time when it was open to the public and was screened by security to enter the building. Last month, Mace garnered controversy by introducing a resolution to bar transgender women from using female restrooms on Capitol Hill. The move came after Sarah McBride of Delaware was elected, making her the first openly transgender woman set to serve in the House. While the resolution did not name the Delaware representative-elect, Mace told The Washington Post that "it's 100 percent about McBride."
