The new burger spot is set to open in the former La Taq space, right next to Podnah’s, on December 4. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Owner Rodney Muirhead and the team at Podnah’s have been working on the perfect burger blend using the restaurant's brisket trim since early summer. The final half-pound patty uses a blend of brisket, sirloin, and chuck. The tight opening menu consists of a classic cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger, a fire-roasted green chile cheeseburger, and a rotating burger special; all of the burgers will be served with aioli on buns from Dos Hermanos. In addition to the burgers, Lone Star will also offer french fries, hand-dipped onion rings, Sabrett hot dogs, and chili-topped Coney Island dogs. Cocktails will also be on deck at Lone Star; The Oregonian reports the restaurant will keep La Taq’s bar, with the addition of new cocktails like a Manhattan and martini.
