BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man accused in a deadly shooting that took place in Arvin in 2022 pleaded not guilty on Monday to a charge of first-degree murder. Armando Ortiz Jr., 30, is being held without bail in the shooting death of Ariel Alexander Angel Peralez, 29. He's due back in court Dec. 12. Police arrested Ortiz last week. Peralez was shot May 24, 2022, in the 1200 block of Durham Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
