Yuletree Jubilee raises funds for local arts programs
Nov 29, 2024
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Communities are coming together to spread joy and support local causes this holiday season.
The annual Yuletree Jubilee in West Springfield is known for bringing the community together for a good cause during this festive time of year.
The Red Thread Network for Arts has been hosting its Yuletree Jubilee for 8 years now in hopes of raising money for artists in the city. This year, they have over 20 holiday trees on display at the West Springfield Public Library Community Room, each one decorated by a local business or organization.
Visitors have the chance to win one of these trees through a raffle with all proceeds going towards supporting art programs. Founder of Red Thread Jane Barrientos told 22News, "Creativity is good not only for mental health but for kids ability to think. They need to be able to think outside the box, even to do math. So if you aren't encouraging it, then you don't get the expansion of their thinking patterns. And I think art is a really good way to do that."
From now until December 8th, people can purchase raffle tickets for $10 each and choose which trees they want to try and win.
Raffle Viewing Hours:
Friday - Sunday: 10 AM to 4 PM
Monday - Thursday: 10AM to 8PM
On Sunday, the Red Thread Network for Arts will be drawing the lucky winners of the trees at 4PM.
