Nov 29, 2024
Central Ohio Weather and Radar
Scattered snow showers will linger through the evening, leaving a light coating on the roads and creating a few slick spots, as arctic air picks up moisture from the Great Lakes. Skies will gradually clear later tonight, and morning readings will dip into the upper 10s in most areas.
Brisk westerly winds will maintain a wintry feel to the weekend, with an area of high pressure building in. Dress warmly, and plan on subfreezing temperatures for the Ohio State-Xichigan game Saturday, with a noon kickoff temperature around 27 degrees, and mostly sunny skies. Winds out of the west at 10 to 20 mph will keep the wind chill between 15 and 20 degrees.
A fast-moving Alberta clipper will bring some clouds Saturday evening. Light snow accumulations will range upwards of an inch near and south of I-70, potentially making roads slick through Sunday morning. Locally, 1 to 2 inches will fall over the southern part of the state.
Temperatures will start off in the low 20s early Sunday, with a light coating of snow, and only rise to near 30 in the afternoon, with a brisk northwest wind Sunday and some sunshine..
A reinforcing blast of cold air will keep temperatures 15 degrees below normal through early next week. Afternoon highs will only be near freezing and morning lows around 20.
The next chance for rain and snow showers will come with a frontal system on Wednesday.
