Parking bans, travel restrictions during storm

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Multiple municipalities as well as New York State have implemented overnight parking bans and travel restrictions during the winter storm this weekend.
See the list below:
Town of Cheektowaga: The town has implemented its overnight parking ban (between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. beginning early Saturday). The ban will last until April 1, 2025.
Town of Tonawanda: The town's ban on overnight parking (between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.) will begin at 2 a.m. on Sunday. The ban goes until March 15, 2025.
Commercial vehicle restriction: New York State has announced an empty and tandem commercial vehicle ban on I-90 from exit 53 in downtown Buffalo to the Pennsylvania state line beginning at 3 p.m. Friday. It is also in effect for Route 219 from I-90 to the state line.
This weekend's storm is the first major lake effect storm of the season. It is possible that some areas, especially in the areas of southern Erie County as well as Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties, will see multiple feet of snow. A Lake Effect Snow Warning began in those areas at 7 a.m. Friday and lasts until 7 a.m. Monday.
