RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - As you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal, the Richmond Ballet is already thinking about the holidays! Rehearsals are already underway for this year's production of The Nutcracker, which will run at the Dominion Energy Center from Saturday, Dec. 7 to Monday, Dec. 23. The holiday classic has dazzled Virginia audiences for more than forty years, and will feature live music from the Richmond Symphony. Company dancers tell 8News rehearsals began in early November, and require hours of coordination and precision. "It's a fairytale," Izabella Tokev, company dancer, told 8News. "It's a storybook. It is just perfect from the costumes to the sets to the beautiful music we have from the Richmond Symphony. It's just wonderful because it really feels you have been thrown into this magical storybook. It's just perfect for children." Tickets start at $25.
