'Major' arrest made in New Orleans drug bust

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A "major" arrest has been made following a drug bust at the conclusion of a 5-month-long multi-agency investigation.
According to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, on Monday, Nov. 25, detectives surveilled Thai Vu, who was allegedly running a "significant narcotics distribution network." During the surveillance operation, Vu was stopped at the intersection of Dauphine and Canal streets, and was searched.
Vu reportedly had a large amount of drugs, as well as $8,665 in cash. Search warrants were also executed at two related properties, where detectives say they found more drugs and "evidence confirming his involvement in a major drug trafficking enterprise."

In all, detectives seized the following items:
368 grams of cocaine.
6,030 fentanyl pills.
165 oxycontin pills.
3,587 grams of marijuana.
3,022 grams of ketamine.
2,092 grams of MDMA.
107 MDMA tablets.
807 alprazolam pills.
30 ml of ketamine (liquid.)
3,379 grams of psilocybin.
122 LSD tablets.
962 grams of THC.
Vu was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges that include possession with intent to distribute cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA, marijuana, ketamine, psilocybin and other controlled substances.
