Thanksgiving is a federal holiday, so some grocery stores, restaurants, and national retailers like Walmart and Target, will be closed, according to USA Today. Other stores like McDonald's, Kroger, and Big Lots will remain open, albeit some with adjusted hours.
Many CVS and Walgreens will be closed but some will be open with adjusted hours. If you’re planning on going anywhere, it’s always smart to check business hours online before you leave.
Banks, post offices, shipping services, and the stock market will be closed. The U.S. Postal Service will not be delivering mail, nor will retail services be available.
While restaurants are allowed to serve alcohol on Thanksgiving, liquor stores are required to be close for the holiday in Massachusetts.
Here is a list of the national restaurant chains that will be open for Thanksgiving this year:
Applebee’s
Arby’s
Burger King
Dairy Queen
Denny’s
Domino’s
Dunkin’
IHOP
McDonald’s
Panera Bread
Pizza Hut
Sonic

Wendy’s
Massachusetts is one of three states that prohibit most stores from opening on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas thanks to "blue laws," according to Mass.gov.
