ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Senator Pam Helming presented a Canandaigua woman with the New York State Senate Commendation Award Wednesday. The award honors efforts to serve those in need within the community.
Patty Hotchkiss is the former longtime owner of Patty's Place Restaurant. For the past three decades, she's served hundreds of free meals during the holiday season. These meals included special deliveries to low-income and veteran housing, as well as to the Canandaigua police and fire departments.
"I just love people and when something happens, the community is all there, everyone, and we just live in a nice community - but when something happens, everybody just steps right in without being asked," Hotchkiss said.
