California's last congressional race to be called, Gray leads

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Democrat Adam Gray and Republican John Duarte are really close in California's 13th congressional district race, which is the last House race waiting to be called in California.
As of Wednesday evening, votes reported by the Associated Press show Gray with 104,991 votes, a slight lead over Duarte, who has 104,801 votes. This is a difference of 190 votes, with 99% of votes counted, according to AP.
California's 13th Congressional District race is the last House race in California to be called; recently, the Associated Press called Democrat Jim Costa's reelection to represent California's 21st Congressional District.
On Tuesday, Melvin Levey with the Merced County Registrar of Voters announced they have processed every ballot in Merced County.
"So other than those ballots that are, that are eligible to be cured, you know, there will be no other updates. And I can tell you that we are still getting those care affidavits in. And so we'll update the totals as needed. But, um, you know, but we are one step closer to having certified results, which we will have on Dec. 3," he said.
Even if Gray is leading the race, nothing has been called yet. Still, officials in Merced County say they understand the voters' frustration for the process taking so long and ask them to be patient as they have to follow state law.
The California 13th Congressional District contains parts of Fresno, Madera, Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Merced counties.
