WEATHER ALERT: A rainy Thanksgiving is expected with rain slowing down travel through the day along with some gusty winds. Friday morning, black ice is possible around dawn as temperatures briefly drop to near freezing.

Widespread rain arrives Thanksgiving Thursday. Sunny dry Friday, but watch for the possibility of some black ice around dawn Friday, up until about 8am. Weekend looks dry but colder.

THANKSGIVING THURSDAY
All day chilly rain expected from early this morning and extending into the afternoon and through early evening hours That rain endas (around 7pm) with a few brief wet snow flakes in far northwest Rhode Island. Winds gusting to 20-30mph from the east through the day, especially long the coast and islands.
RAIN AMOUNTS: We're expecting 0.5 to 1.0" of rain, but some isolated higher amounts are possible. Drier weather arrives Thursday night

Watch for potential black ice "early" Friday morning near sunrise, as temperatures briefly drop to near or below freezing. Overall it looks dry and sunny for Black Friday, but chilly. Afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s.
