Snow totals for Southern Colorado Wednesday
Nov 27, 2024
(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The snow has started to wind down for most of Southern Colorado as of Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 27 but it was a rough morning for some as a snowstorm moved through the area.
The storm system technically started Tuesday, Nov. 26 and first brought snow to the high country where some places including Monarch Mountain saw over a foot of snow in just a few hours Tuesday afternoon. As we got into the overnight hours, that's when several waves of snow behind a cold front moved through our area. While some places in Colorado Springs saw just wet roads, other places like Monument saw some very icy conditions through the morning hours on Wednesday.
So how much snow did we get by Wednesday afternoon?
Some places in the higher terrain saw more than two feet of snow including; Monarch Pass, Wolf Creek Pass, and Crested Butte. For the most part in the lower elevations like in Colorado Springs, there were two inches reported, and in Pueblo just one inch. The highest snow totals for lower elevations on the I-25 corridor was Palmer Lake with a reported 4.9 inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon.
