WARREN, R.I. (WLNE) — 200 meals will be served to residents on Thanksgiving in Warren. The Italian American War Veterans will host the 4th Annual Thanksgiving For Service Dinner at Perella’s Ristorante on Metacom Avenue. This year’s event, according to a release, the meals will be served by veterans and volunteers on Thanksgiving. “We have over 100 reservations from veterans,” said John A Cianci, Department Commander, Italian American War Veteran of Rhode Island. “In addition, will be delivering hot Thanksgiving meals Thanksgiving meals to our veterans throughout Rhode Island who are unable and or homebound, he said. Veterans and volunteers started preparing for the event yesterday and will be arriving around 11:00 a.m. at Perella’s Ristorante on Wednesday to start cooking turkeys, dozen hams, 250 lbs of potatoes, and numerous other traditional sides. Over 20 specialty pies have also been ordered. All the cooking will be from veterans. Categories: News
