UNM OC named nominee for national assistant coach of the year
Nov 26, 2024
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The UNM football team has one of the most dynamic offenses in the country and Tim Beck, the team's offensive coordinator, has been recognized for his efforts. On Tuesday, Beck was named a nominee for the Frank Broyles Award, which honors the top assistant coach in college football.
In his first season at New Mexico, Beck elevated the Lobos into the most prolific offense in program history. UNM is currently ranked as the No. 4 offense in the country at 484.5 yards per game. The Lobos also rank No. 26 at 33.8 points per game.
Beck is one of 65 nominees this year out of around 1,500 assistant coaches in 131 FBS programs. The selection process for this season's winner will be determined by the Football Writers Association of America, broadcasters, a college football hall of fame selection committee and current head coaches. The winner will be announced in February.
