(CNN)– Disney is agreeing to pay $43 million to settle a gender-pay lawsuit. The case involves nearly 9 thousand women who claimed they received lower wages compared to their male counterparts. The worker who started the lawsuit said she did so after learning about a 20 thousand dollar pay gap with a less experienced colleague with the same title. Disney did not admit fault but says it is committed to paying workers fairly. A judge still needs to approve the settlement but it could reshape how Disney pays employees in the future.
