(WGNO) — Three people were arrested on Saturday, Nov. 23, after a traffic stop led to a drug bust in St. John the Baptist Parish. Three men hospitalized in separate shootings across New Orleans The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies arrested 47-year-old Jerry Beeland, 56-year-old Randal Freeman and 53-year-old William Preston during a traffic stop in the Garyville area. During the stop, St. John Parish deputies said they recovered 87 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. (Courtesy: St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office) Through an investigation, investigators learned that "all three subjects involved in the traffic stop were actively involved in a criminal conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in St. John the Baptist Parish." Beeland faces charges of prohibited acts, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and felony possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
