ALEXANDER CO., NC – A man is in jail without bond, charged with the murder of his 86-year-old grandmother. Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies found Betty Tedder dead inside her Morvian Falls home on Wednesday, after family members asked them to check on her. When deputies arrived at the home on Russell Gap Road, they say nobody answered the door. After they made their way inside, deputies say they found Tedder dead from what appeared to be trauma. Deputies say they also found 39-year-old Nathan Lowe inside the home. Lowe is charged with murder and malicious conduct by a prisoner.  The Sheriff’s Office has not released any other details. The suspect is due in Alexander County District Court on December 2, 2024.
