ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Crews worked Tuesday morning to set up the giant Christmas tree at Rochester City Hall.
The 25-foot Norway Spruce was taken off the truck and brought into City Hall before the holiday season. Crew members were seen working to get the large tree into the building and hoist the tree upward.
The next step after this is to decorate the tree. Over 7,000 lights will be put on the tree this week.
The City of Rochester is planning a tree-lighting ceremony on Wednesday, December 4. Mayor Evans will light the tree with help from Santa Claus himself, along with performances by the chorus and orchestra from the School of the Arts.
