NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – All Noblesville schools are closed Tuesday due to a threat.
The district said police made them aware overnight of an anonymous video posted on social media threatening violence toward East Middle School.
Officials have been reviewing the situation, and while they don’t feel there’s any reason to believe the threat is credible, they decided to close for the day.
“At Noblesville Schools, safety is our top priority, and we are committed to taking appropriate action to protect the health and wellbeing of the students, staff, and community that we serve,” wrote Superintendent Dr. Daniel G. Hile in a message to families.
Hile’s message indicated that Tuesday would not be an e-learning day. The district will spend the day working with law enforcement to investigate the threat and ensure the safety of schools.
“I greatly appreciate your understanding and support as we continue working hard to keep our schools, staff, and children safe,” Hile wrote.
The district's Thanksgiving break starts Wednesday. School won't be back in session until the following Monday.
