Winter Wonderland will light up before Thanksgiving

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The annual light show at Lake Shawnee, Winter Wonderland, will be open to the public later this week.
TARC announced Monday that its 27th annual Winter Wonderland light display is set to open the day before Thanksgiving this year. The drive-thru holiday light display will be set up at Lake Shawnee Campground.

Along with the light display, people attending can also take part in extra activities taking place. According to TARC, there will be a place for families to drop off their letters to Santa. Drop off your list at Winter Wonderland through Thursday, Dec. 12, and the letters will be shipped to the North Pole the next day.
Winter Wonderland is one of many festive stops for Topeka Jingle Days. By attending Winter Wonderland, you can get your passport stamped, and be one event closer to entering a drawing.

Winter Wonderland will be open Wednesday, Nov. 27 through Tuesday, Dec. 31. Its hours are 6-9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 6-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The display will be closed to the public Mondays, Dec. 2, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance at TARC; the requested donation per night is $10 per vehicle and $20 for a large van or bus.
