KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- KCPD reports that a fatal crash occurred today, November 23, around 1:30 p.m. in Kansas City. Merriam police investigating deadly shooting connected to crash Reports show that a Chevy Trailblazer was speeding eastbound on 47th Street and ran off the road to the right. The Chevy went through a drainage ditch and overturned several times, vaulting over a large dirt mound, and continuing to roll. The Chevy then struck an unoccupied Ford F-150 parked in the driveway of an unoccupied residence at 4701 Appleton before stopping. The unrestrained driver, who was the sole occupant of the Chevy, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. KCPD says that this is fatality no. 85 on the year, compared to no. 90 at this time last year. This investigation is ongoing, FOX4 will provide updates as they're made available.
