RIFC falls short, loses USL Championship 30

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (WPRI) - Rhode Island FC lost the title game against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship by a score of 3-0.
The club was able to upset three of the four top seeds to win the Eastern Conference title during their championship run.

Midfielder Juan Tejada scored Colorado's first goal. The second and third were scored by Midfielder Jairo Henriquez and Striker Ronaldo Damus, respectively.
The last time a club made it to the championship match in its first year was Sporting Kansas City II in 2016, and only 2014’s Sacramento Republic FC raised the trophy in its inaugural season.
