Investigation into drug ring leads to Newark man's arrest

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — An investigation into a drug ring has resulted in the arrest of a Newark man.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has an ongoing investigation into narcotics distribution. The investigation, according to deputies, led them to the home of 47-year-old Kevin Q. Hobbs.
On November 15, 2024, deputies searched Hobbs' home and found two ounces of cocaine and a loaded handgun. They said the gun was reported stolen.
Hobbs was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies said he is a convicted felon and cannot possess a firearm.
